RHINO CLUB GOLD CARD – How to purchase a Loyalty Card

RHINO GOLD CARD Application Form 

NEW RATES FOR Rhino Club.

1. Your basic Rhino Card Card will cost you R250 per person (under 60 yrs of age) or R230 per person(over 60 yrs of age) for a year’s membership. There is no juvenile rate.

Eg. An individual membership will cost R 250 (one person).

Eg. A couple Card – will cost R 500 ie. you will be buying two memberships @R250 each = R500 and ONLY THOSE 2 PEOPLE enter for free. However, as long as ONE of the cardholders is present, any second person can enter with you for free because you have paid for two memberships (eg. Your partner is staying at home and you want to take a friend with you instead.)

Eg. A Family or a Multi Card of four people will cost R 1000. However, a surcharge of only R 125 per person is charged for each extra member, where a family or group has more than four people.

2. Where a Rhino Club member books accommodation, the Leatherbacks apply to their guests as well – but THE VALID Rhino Club MEMBER has to be present.

3. Your Rhino Gold card will have your ID and name on it, plus your partner’s ID, plus the number of memberships you have paid for eg. No. 1 will be printed onto the card where there is only 1 membership purchased; eg. No. 2 will be printed on the Couple card; eg. No. 4 on a Family Card where 4 memberships have been purchased, etc

4. This membership gives you

  • the Leatherback 40% discounts and other specials – The Leatherback discounts apply to all your guests in your chalet or ordinary campsite.
  • free gate entry to our Parks
  • free gate entry into the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Terms and Conditions apply. NNB. The Conservation and Community levy of R 5 per person per day is a separate cost and in not waived by the Rhino Gold Card.
  • preferential Helpdesk service  and
  • the monthly enewsletter (keeping you up to date with Conservation issues).

Purchase of Rhino Gold Card:
Please supply your identity number. If one membership is purchased, that member is issued with their own Card under their ID Number and Surname.

If a Couple or Family or Mullti Card is purchased, the Card will be issued in the name of the principle cardholder with only two ID Numbers. Ie. A second ID number can be added only where more than one membership has been purchased. Eg. to a Couple or Group Card. Terms and Conditions apply.

The following TERMS AND CONDITIONS are APPLICABLE TO USE OF THE RHINO GOLD CLUB CARD

  1. The Rhino Gold Card may be purchased for the period of one year, beginning 01 April 2014 ending 31 March 2015. Alternatively, a bi-annual Card may be purchased from 01 October 2014 for the period ending 31 March 2015. Cards purchased within these periods attract the set rates as stated on the Application Form.
  2. This card allows GOLD Rhino Club Members free day entry through Entrance Gates managed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, for the number of people specified on the card. Proof of the Cardholder’s identity (ID number, passport or SA Residence permit) is a requirement on entry.
  3. Free gate entry into major events events held within our protected areas, may be limited at the discretion of Park Management.
  4. This card is strictly for NON-COMMERCIAL use.
  5. This card may only be used by the person/s whose Identity number appears on the face of the card, and is valid only until the expiry date which appears on the front of the card.
  6. A Senior Citizen may purchase the card, but should be 60yrs of age or older. Both I.D. numbers on the card must belong to Senior Citizens.
  7. Replacement of stolen cards will incur a charge of 50% of the original cost. Replacement of a lost card will incur the full charge of the original price. Due to the value attached to these cards, an affidavit is required when claiming for a lost or stolen card. Any changes in the spelling of a surname, or the correction of an ID number bears a cost of R50 if it is the member’s error.
  8. Only one ID number on an Individual card and two ID numbers on couple or multi cards is permitted.
  9. A non-refundable entry fee will be charged for persons wishing to buy or renew their Rhino Club membership within the Park.
  10. Overseas guests do not qualify for a Rhino Gold Card, unless they have a South African Residency Permit or a South African work permit, or have Family resident in the country.
  11. Access into any of KZN Wildlife protected areas/reserves is governed by all relevant legislation applicable to KZN Wildlife.
  12. It is a distinct condition of admission to any Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife reserve that Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife accepts no responsibility for any death, injury or illness sustained or suffered by any person or theft or loss of or damage to any property occurring within or arising from a visit or visits to such reserve however caused, and whether allegedly due to the negligence of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife or any of its employees or agents, or arising from the use of any facilities supplied or made available or from alleged defect or utensil, equipment, services, vessel, vehicle, or other conveyance supplied or made available, or from any liquid or foodstuff supplied or arising in any other manner and from any other cause whatsoever.
  13. The cost of the Rhino Gold Club card includes a contribution to the Community levy, which is administered by the organisation.
  14. Guest data will only be used by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, for Marketing purposes and to communicate with members.

    Thank you for this update. It is disappointing to note that the Gold Card now only covers the named person/s. For pensioners with grandchildren who accompany us to most places in and around KZN this pricing is no longer affordable. The Wild Card which covers most regions around South Africa is now looking more attractive.

      Thank you for your comment. We always appreciate feedback from our customers!
      The Rhino Gold card is valid in all KZN Wildlife Parks and all iSimangaliso Wetland places. It also give you the 40% Leatherbacks and other discounts for yourselves AND your grandchildren when they accompany you to the Parks despite their not being members. These are offered monthly, at a great variety of our Camps.

    it would be easier to renew or apply for a Rhino Gold Card on line as you can do with the Wild Card – email is not a very safe way to submit credit card details and it is no instantaneous – the wild card gives you a confirmation on the same day you make submission and payment – in fact within about half an hour. – the card then follows. -it is very user friendly in comparison to your application methods!!??

      Good morning Gina. Thank you for your constructive comment. We are reviewing our system presently. However, on proof of payment, customers instantly have the use of the Rhino Card. A permit is emailed to them and this is valid in all our areas. You instantly qualify for accommodation discounts and free gate entry. This includes iSimangaliso, where the Wild card is not accepted.
